Journey to the cold places on Earth

Ever imagine how it is to live in extraordinary places such as the Arctic and Antartica? How does animals survive there?

1) To the Arctic
Sometime ago, we decided to go to the Singapore Science Centre OmniMax Theatre. We had decided to watch "To the Arctic" - a journey of a mother bear and her twin cubs in the Arctic. As most are aware, due to global warming, the sea ice is melting. In the movie, we learnt and watch how global warming is affecting the their lives, we learnt too, a mother's love for her little ones.

Extracted from IMAX
"An extraordinary journey to the top of the world, the documentary adventure “To The Arctic” tells the ultimate tale of survival. Narrated by Oscar® winner Meryl Streep, the film takes audiences on a never-before-experienced journey into the lives of a mother polar bear and her twin seven-month-old cubs as they navigate the changing Arctic wilderness they call home. "

Our tickets to View IMAX movie

Well, I have not been to IMAX for a long time. Below are the past movies which had been aired here.

We were all very excited about this trip. My girl's first IMAX movie.

Well, it was a great show but my little girl got a little frighten when she saw the mother polar bear trying to scare off predators. You may be surprised but yes... polar bears have their own predators. Mommy polar bear is constantly fighting for the survival of her cubs. Watch the show, you will not be disappointed.

After the show, we took a walk to view some of the exhibits in the theater. Primarily the solar system exhibits which my husband said had been around for as long as he remembers. Little one had fun playing here.

Kiddo having fun with the weighing machine. Her weight on Earth and that if she were to land on Jupiter

2) March of the Penguins
We happened to chance upon "March of the Penguins" during one of our library trips.

The movie is on how the Emperor penguins leave their habitat to a particular breeding ground to mate. This is  also the place which they would rear their chicks. It is as informative as the IMAX movie which I introduced earlier.

Coincidentally, both movies showed how each species tries to enhance their own survival rate in cold places and also the animals' great parental love which made me very touched.

How about you? Have you watched any of such movies? Tell me about it.
